I will say this, though...a couple people, who should know who they are, have wonderful timing. For one, one of my favorite people in the whole of fandoms everywhere started writing again, and every time I read one of her fics, I manage to temporarily forget everything wrong with my life. Also, a good friend recently sent me a whole list of fanfic recs, which, in between dealing with everything, has managed to distract me for a good portion of the week (and yielded what may actually be my favorite fanfiction, ever, in a 12-year run of reading lots of different fanfic from lots of different fandoms). So, to both of you: you fucking rock and I love you more than I can possibly convey right at this moment.

Wow...two regular journal entries in as many days. Definitely the apocalypse.
It has been a rather...epically long day. I wasn't supposed to work, and then I somehow got roped into an 8 hour closing shift. Guh. But...that meant 7 hours of writing time in between selling copies of Wimpy Kid #4 (Seriously...that's almost all I sold all day long. WTF?), and I managed to squeeze out another half of a chapter of my growing Supernatural fic. I also finally plotted out the challenge fic I'm writing, and plan to start it tomorrow. Since I have three days off in a row, I should get a decent amount done, hopefully. (I say this, knowing that I always get more writing done at work, and virtually none at home, but I'm going to make a sincere effort...)
But on to the flaily-ness!
If I haven't mentioned it before (and OMG, how have I NOT mentioned it before???), I'm going to the Vancouver Supernatural con next year!!!!!!!! This actually became definite a month ago when my amazing, super, ridiculously loving boyfriend bought me my ticket. Where the hell he managed to pull $440 out of is beyond me, ON TOP of the fact that he also added on photo op tickets with both Misha and Jared, but...he did! And there are tickets! And I have them! But it hasn't really...felt real, since it happened.
See, I don't travel. Like, ever, except maybe a state or two over for a weekend getaway. I've been to Florida a couple times with my family, and once for a wedding, but not in years. And now, I'm going to be going to Vancounver, on my own, for a week (I'm going up a few days early to actually enjoy the area a bit. :) ) So, I'm alternately feeling like it's not actually happening and I dreamed it up, or I'm completely terrified.
But still flaily.
But I made my hotel reservation today, and my mom just called and offered to pay for my passport as a Christmas gift, and now suddenly there's less of the "not feeling real" and way more of the "terrified epic flailing squee-ness".
So...yeah. Freaking out a bit. :D I also have my boyfriend's solemn promise that I can add on photo ops with whoever signs on to the convention in the next several months, and he won't say a word about the money I spend. Have I mentioned that he's awesome?

By that I mean, as much as I'd love it, please don't suggest Dean/Cas for The Lovers. :P
